Long Term Equestrian Development (LTED) is a multi-stage training, competition and recovery pathway guiding an individual’s experience in sport and physical activity.
These programs are athlete-centered, coach-driven and supported by an integrated sport system. This roadmap provides a clear age and stage appropriate pathway for success whether it’s a child or adult wanting to learn how to ride, an athlete on the verge of high performance or an individual or family participating for the pleasure of being with their horse and involved in the equestrian world.

The Quest for Gold: Ontario Athlete Assistance Program (QFG-OAAP) is a program funded by the Ontario Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism, Culture Industries
The overarching goal of the Quest for Gold – Ontario Athlete Assistance Program (OAAP) is directly related to the High Performance Sport goal of the Canadian Sport Policy – that Canadians are systematically achieving world-class results at the highest levels of international competition – by improving the performance and number of Ontario athletes performing at the national and international level, thereby contributing to the improved performance of Canada at international competitions.
The intent of the OAAP is to provide funding to individual athletes in the sport’s Train to Train through Train to Win categories based on their demonstrated commitment to high performance sport, allowing them to continue to pursue athletic excellence at the highest levels of national and international competition.
Ontario Equestrian (OE) receives funding for up to ten (10) athlete cards. OE athletes between the ages of 11 and 35 in the Olympic and Paralympic disciplines including Show Jumping, Eventing, Dressage and Para-Dressage who meet the criteria outlined in the application are invited to apply.
